Getting Our Artisans Noticed
One of the great joys of Baileo is getting to know our Irish artisans, sharing the passion they have for their craft and bringing their unique, handcrafted products to the attention of our community. As a small Irish family business ourselves, we know how challenging it can be to get noticed in what can sometimes be a marketplace dominated by the ‘big boys’. So, we bring our treasured finds to your notice and hope you like them as much as we do. Below are some current favorites this Spring season.
Collette’s Choice
On a buying trip to Dublin, Collette spotted this very unusual and striking jewelry. She couldn’t wait to get it into the shop. Mostly made in silver, this gorgeous pendant and bracelet depict the shape of the stones of the World Heritage Site at the Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim. In contrast to the silver stones each piece of jewelry has a single hexagonal stone made of rare gold from the small family mine in the Sperrin Mountains in County Tyrone. A real conversation piece, beautifully imagined and crafted.
Teresa’s Choice
For Teresa, bright colors and beautiful flowers bring a little Spring to any season. Both are essential to bring immediate impact to any room refresh. She loves our set of 3 colorful miniature flower vases because that’s jus what they do. They are elegant, cute and immediately noticeable. Grouped together with single stem flowers, they add a special touch to your dinner table or window-sill. Simple handcrafted beauty at its best – and all the way from County Kildare.
Anne Marie’s Choice
Anne Marie loves our nordic style pottery range with its lovely clean white lines and pops of color around the base. You can tell when something is handcrafted with care and that’s what you feel when you hold a piece in your hands. We have given various pieces as gifts on many different occasions from weddings to housewarmings to anniversaries. They are now proudly housed in a range of homes from the cottages in Carmel-by-the-Sea to trendy lofts in New York City and San Francisco.
Lucia’s Choice
A particular favorite of Lucia’s is the beautiful long silk scarves. She loves their vibrant colors and luxurious feel. They instantly lift your mood, brighten your face and add a finishing touch to any outfit. She especially loves the Irish green with its swirl design that reflects the many shades of green in the Irish countryside. To add to their appeal each scarf comes in a really lovely gift box that’s ideal for storing trinkets and other small keepsakes.
