The design on this Irish tea towel is heavily influenced by the Round Tower of Clondalkin, founded in the 7th century by St Mochua and one of only four remaining round towers in County Dublin. While rare on kitchen linens, Celtic patterns of this nature are widely used on Irish dancing costumes, making this piece a real show-stopper. The Costello Chapel is the inspiration for this Irish tea towel. It is the smallest chapel in Europe and the second smallest in the world. Located in Carrick on Shannon in County Leitrim it is well worth a visit and is a true testament of a man’s love for his wife. Completed in 1879 the chapel is the resting place of both Edward and Mary Costello and it was built by Edward in honor of his wife who died at 47 years old. Here’s to lasting relationships!
