Superstitions
It’s lucky when a bride sees a chimney sweep on the way to her wedding
If the palm of your left hand is itchy money is coming to you
If a pair of scissors falls on the floor you will get a disappointment
It’s unlucky when the Christmas candles don’t burn straight
It’s lucky when you have a dream with horses in it
If you find a horseshoe, spit on it and throw it over your head for good luck
If you meet a funeral cortege walk three steps with it
Never leave a house by a different door to the one you entered through
When a donkey brays, it is a sign that a tinker is dead
If you pick a flower on May Eve the fairies will take you away with them
Ireland is a place of mystery and magic so who’s to say these are just “superstition”.
Would you walk under a ladder?
.
Note –the fella walking behind you will be mad as a box of frogs though.
